Every day, emboldened by endless home-improvement shows, and Ed Harris? soothing, assuring voice in commercials for Home Depot, millions of Americans attempt to repair and upgrade their homes without the help of a professional. The results vary from great to? well, you?ll see in these photos.
A company called Structure Tech regularly posts photos of home inspection disasters to its Facebook page. They recently did a round-up of the worst of the worst for the Zillow blog (via SFgate.com).
Here are some of the more hilariously disastrous highlights:
1. Can?t get the door past the toilet? Nothing a little jigsaw work won?t fix.
2. Need some extra support under the new addition? Just stick an old trailer frame down there.
3. This is great faucet placement? If you want to risk mingling your potable water and your dirty water.
4. Electrical outlet in an awkward position? Nothing a little elbow grease and complete disregard for safety can?t fix.
5. Another bit of outlet ingenuity. Why move to make it accessible when you can just cut through the vent?
