United States supports expansion of Pakistan agricultural exports ...

Islamabad :? United States sponsored training for 60 new agriculture export certification experts ended here Friday which will help standardize quality of Pakistan?s agricultural products and enable growers to increase exports in new markets.

?We believe farmers will be more prosperous if they can sell their products in international markets,? said William Patterson, Economic Growth Office Director for US Agency for International Development. ?These newly-trained certification experts will help Pakistan?s agriculture sector expand its access to international markets, boost exports, create employment business opportunities, and improve agricultural practices.?

Training program is part of larger, US-sponsored Agribusiness Project, a multi-year effort focused on increasing Pakistan agriculture sector?s productivity, quality, ability to generate jobs and prosperity.
